like i said last january...i'm really not big on resolutions. don't get me wrong, i love to dream but the "accomplishing dreams" part is a little sketchy for me. of my "cool things you might find me wanting to do" in 2010, i actually did:
::: move to a new city - i mean, i lived here before but it beats a texas border town
::: set a new high score for bowling - nerd alert! i was the female high scorer in my league last spring (yes, i said league)
::: travel - in 2010 i found myself in texas, oklahoma, kansas, nebraska, new york, new mexico, oregon, washington, wyoming, utah, idaho, michigan and colorado (9+ times)
well...this weekend i headed back to the mile high state and dusted off my ol' bowling fingers once again. i was in the hospital bowling league for two whole seasons down in del rio. i don't remember our team name but it was something riddled with innuendo. tuesday nights were always full of foamy pitchers, neon-lit lanes and lots of friendly banter with my fellow co-workers (i.e. getting called gringa all night and being taught new naughty words in spanish). after getting ridiculed by my drunk boss/hospital CEO at the annual christmas party for my shoddy bowling skills, i started training with the herman, the bowling alley ownder, twice every weekend. never again would polly davenport ask me if i'd ever played a sport in my lift. humpf. i realize this sounds super dweeby but it was tons of fun to learn something new and, not to brag, but i got prettttttty good! so, conjuring up all herman taught me back in the day, i hit my stride this weekend at harmony lanes in colorado springs and got a NEW HIGH SCORE! whoohoo! now that i'm in the 150 club, it can only go up from here. anyone wanna bowl?
