i am just on a roll lately. after spending far too long scouring shelves at goodwill, valu village, the Fremont vintage mall and deluxe junk, i’ve come up with some killer thrifts of late. sometimes i forget to pace myself and have to slow down and remind myself there’s really no need to:
A) be spending over $20 at goodwill in one run and
B) cram every single thrifting delight into a single post.
now, let me set the record straight, i once went head-to-head with my old man over wearing a used outfit from the consignment shop. the thought of wearing someone else’s clothes made my flesh crawl. now that i think of it, i’m a little appalled my mom was on board with that given her germophobic nature. now that i’m all growed up, that old sentiment is long gone and i get a tingly little thrill every time i score a find while thrifting. over time i’ve developed a keen eye when it comes to primo junk. don’t believe me? feast your eyes on these latest finds and remember, there’s always more where that came from.
this was a crazy week. work was demanding, my house is a mess (evidence of a frenetic week) and the blog got more visitors than any other time in its 2+ year history. i’ve been doing a ton of research on other similar blogs (far more popular than mine) seeing what they do differently to cultivate a strong readership, a steady following and turn it into a career. wouldn’t that be incredible – to blog for a living??? the thought alone gives me a happy shiver. here are some fun finds from around the web to start your weekend off right. plus i’ll have a little more personal post this afternoon if you feel like swinging by later on in the day. until then, enjoy the eye candy and happy weekending!
pay a visit to my newest blog crush design love fest (where type and images totally make out) from the mind of the brilliant bri emery, graphic designer and art director of rue magazine (more to come on that later). warning: it will make you want to read every post she’s ever written
go peep the photography work of harper smith here – it’s edgy + indie + boho perfection. while you’re there, swing by her blog and get inspired.
like my mom, i’m obsessed with paper products. my heart beats for a good letterpress card and someday i’m going to have my own card company called the nitty gritty card committee. until then i swoon over folks like those at sapling press who just “get it” when it comes to a good card. see what i mean?

if you haven’t yet seen rue magazine, you’re missing OUT. this online decorating mag just released its fourth issue and it’s dripping with mind-blowing goodness. a mere six months old, rue is already turning heads in the blogging world and the current issue even features several photo spreads by seattle wunderkinds sarah & chris rhoads.
sprucing up your space requires little more than stopping by lucky little dot. it’s like going to the hippest goodwill ever – without having to paw through scads of knick knacks and junk.
i’m off for a trip to the beach (albeit a rainy, cold seattle beach) and a little thrifting! here’s to seeing some sunshine in the emerald city.
